behind the kewtee
Hi! My name is Constance L. Earles, and I am a Denver-based artist. I began painting these cute Kokeshi-inspired dolls in 2015, drawn to the simplicity and symbolism of traditional Japanese Kokeshi. Traditionally seen as children’s toys and symbols of good luck, I wanted to reimagine them with a modern twist—keeping their simplicity while making them fun, relatable, and collectible for today’s generation. Inspired by my Asian roots and my love for art, Koko Kewtee was born. A playful, stylish, and charming collection that blends tradition with contemporary culture.
